Modern filmmakers are taking their time while shooting a movie; some of them may take a year or more if it stars a major celebrity. Production of a large-scale movie like Baahubali or KGF typically takes two to three years. But in the 1980s, Telugu star Chiranjeevi completed a film’s filming in only 29 days, and the film turned out to be a huge smash. He had a reputation for finishing two or three movies per year. It was a huge hit when it was first released.

Chiranjeevi portrayed the lead in the film Intlo Ramayya Veedilo Krishnayya, which he finished filming in only 29 days. The film, which was helmed by the renowned filmmaker Kodi Ramakrishna, had Madhavi in the lead role. When it was released in 1982, it became an enormous hit, breaking records for completion time and becoming a blockbuster.

Later, it was adapted in Hindi as Ghar Mein Ram Gali Mein Shyam (1988), in Kannada as Maneli Ramanna Beedheeli Kamanna (1983), and in Tamil as Veetula Raman Veliyila Krishnan (1983). It was the first movie to run for 500 days straight and was directed by the seasoned filmmaker Kodi Ramakrishna. This made Chiranjeevi very well-liked by families.

At first, Chiranjeevi was hesitant to do the part because he thought Chandramohan would be a better fit for the part. He didn’t think the public would accept him in such a sensitive part, even if he liked the writing. But Kodi persuaded him to do the part, and the movie’s commercial success supported his decision.

In the movie, Chiranjeevi plays Rajasekharam, a civil engineer who travels to a hamlet and falls in love with Madhavi’s character, Jayalaxmi. They move to a city after getting married. But Gollapudi Maruthi Rao’s portrayal of their neighbor Subba Rao, who has bad intentions against Jayalaxmi, complicates their lives. The narrative progresses as Rajasekharam overcomes these obstacles to find a solution to the problems ailing their family and relationship.

The bulk of the filming was done in and around Palakollu. Antervedipalem and Chiranjeevi’s home were used for filming the pivotal portions. The last boat ride was shot in Antervedi, the point where the Bay of Bengal and the River Godavari converge.
